Alternative Healing - Why? Why Not?

While witnessing her mother's lifelong struggle with physical illness, Patricia began researching and studying alternatives to the allopathic approach to illness. Her studies in Healing Touch, in Science of Mind, and Reflexology, proved to her that the wholistic approach worked. She became a firm believer in the power of the mind to bring about healing and wholeness in the human condition.

In 2007, seeing the need to bring this type of healing to the area, she founded the Sarasota Healer's Network as a service to the community. She trained a dedicated group of women in many different healing modalities, who offer daily prayers and practices for those in need, those in transition, or those needing a touch of kindness. The Network has become well-known delivering daily healing and has had remarkable results on behalf of many individuals around the country, simply by word of mouth. Healings, gentle transitions in death, realized dreams, or the release of difficulties occur frequently.

Each day, requests come in from across the country to be added to the Reiki Healing Box or to be added to the Healer's List. Patricia collects the information, along with the name and location of the individual, and the condition to be addressed, then notifies the Healers through a Healer's Newsletter. All requests are confidential and each is set with an important intention For The Most Benevolent Outcome. Twice a year all the collected names are burned in a sacred ceremony on the Summer and Winter Solstices. Patricia conducts the ceremony, calling out each name in the box before placing it into the fire along with Temple herbs from India. She then intones either the Tibetan Healing Chant of Green Tara (Om Tare Tu Tare TuRe Soha) or the Medicine Buddha's (Tayata Om Bekandze Bekandze Maha Bekandze Radza Samudgate Soha) or the Sufi Healing Prayer.  Click the following 20 second link to see/hear the chant: Burning the Names

After the ashes are cooled, they're collected into a box.  During our travels each year, the ashes are released at a sacred site along with a ceremony that again remembers the names of those entrusted to the Reiki Box. About Patricia Cockerill . . .

Patricia Cockerill is an accomplished and well known healing arts practitioner and founder of the Sarasota Healer's Network. She's also a co-founder of the Women's Meditation Circle, a metaphysical teacher, retreat facilitator and has authored several books. For over 40 years, she's studied with many spiritual disciplines and lineage teachers. She's studied with Paramahansa Yogananda's Self Realization Fellowship and has been a Kriya meditator for over 30 years. She's a member of the Ouray Mountain Institute (in the lineage of Yogananda) in Colorado and was initiated into Kriya Yoga by Yogananda's direct disciple Roy Eugene Davis.

Patricia has traveled the world, incorporating the spiritual teachings, disciplines, and practices into the body of her spiritual work. She is a Reiki Master in the Usui lineage, a Quantum Touch and Healing Touch Practitioner and a Certified Sound Healer. She uses these practices in her healing work on behalf of those in need and has taught Healing Arts and Techniques to many students in the area. She's extensively studied the teachings of Neville Goddard on "feeling, belief and imagination" to help others activate the healing power within them. She believes strongly that healing is an inside job which means the power to heal is within you. And that ultimately the greatest healer is Love. Her healing practices are always intended for The Most Benevolent Outcome for each individual.

Patricia received a Nattie Award as the "Best Energy Healer" in Sarasota from Natural Awakenings Magazine. She was also honored as a top Healing Practitioner for her work by ​Rising Tide International, also in Sarasota, FL. Her healing meditations are renowned and can be listened to on Insight Timer where she has a following of over eleven thousand. Her go to Healing Meditations are also available for free download on this website. Patricia has appeared on radio and TV programs and was featured in the PBS Documentary Diamonds Along The Highway.
